To the girl in the University Library with the rather large orifice with which you speak:
Have you ever had one of those days where everyone and anyone really grates on your nerves? That seems to be how my day is going today. Usually Monday’s don’t get to me too much because i try not to let anything bring me down. (A habit everyone could benefit from many times.) It seems that today, the thing that sets me off is people who have no concept of how ridiculous they sound. You are college students, leave your high school drama packed away in the keepsake box under your bed or tucked in the back of your closet. You are here, at a relatively expensive school, spending your time in the library complaining about what this bleep did to you and how this bleep called you this or that. Honestly, the library is a safe haven for students to come and find peace and quiet away from the things in their dorm such as roommates, floor-mates, or other distractions and to get their work done. It is not a place specifically designed for you to come meet with your “friends” and complain about how you aren’t treated like the queen bee anymore like you were in High School. There are other places designed for that like the student union and the academic forum. I realize we have a coffee shop in the middle of our library, but that doesn’t mean the etiquette of using a library is null and void. Not one student that is actually here to study wants to hear about how “you’re gonna beat the sh*t out of this girl.” or how you think your on the top of the food chain but you really aren’t. Honestly, Grow up! Your gossip is not impressive and your fake bravado is lacking even more. I have sat here and watched you drive away almost every one of our fellow students in the area in order for them to get work done. Please learn some common courtesy and gossip in any area but the library and take some time to figure out who your real friends are because the people around you today were not your friends. They will eventually be the reason your mouth writes a check it can’t cash. I truly hope things get better for you while you are here at school because your future employers and fellow coworkers will not put up with the way you act.
XO,
Nikki
Have any of you had an experience like this? Where people don’t respect the quiet solitude the library affords other students? Or have you had a different experience that has really peeved you about college? Let me know in the comments. Thank you all for letting me rant.
